Our first Workaway traveler
“If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him…the people who give you their food give you their heart” (C. Chavez)
This is close to the Workaway hosting philosophy and having similar idea on our mind we joined their community and hosted our first traveler, his name is Yoann. This is his view on traveling this way. 😀
“So first of all I am 27 years old, soon 28. I come from France, my family in Lyon and I left Nice 3 weeks ago. The end of the trip is in Montenegro, where I will start my new job on June 15th. I was planning this trip for sometime. While planning the trip I was told Croatia is a beautiful country and I shouldn’t miss it on my way from Nice to Montenegro. I planned in advance and contacted hosts that seemed I liked and started my journey. You asked about traveling alone and when I think about it it’s because it’s easier and more pleasant for me, this way I can organize as I see fit appreciating every moment in very intense way. Traveling like this opens new ways, allows meeting new people in a whole different way, but most of all what I love about traveling like this is the spirit of simplicity and avoiding materialism, which I really don’t like. Traveling this way is an adventure and really interesting, I’m learning a lot about myself and others and at the end of the trip have a great memory and some new friends”.
